Who is A Taste of Carnival for?

This is a family event sharing carnival arts and crafts with children aged 6-15 accompanied by an adult. Adults – come prepared to take part along with the children in your care. Learning Carnival arts and crafts together is great family fun as well as being educational.

What to expect

As well as great music, costume displays and details on how to take part in Carnival 2018, participants will receive a ‘taste’ of Carnival arts and crafts by taking part in these five workshop stations lead by great artists;

  • Practice your bling gem skills                         Renata Gordon
  • Soca dance moves                                     Pareesha Valentina – Valentina’s Corner
  • Basic stilt walking                                     Urban Angels
  • Face painting skills                                     TM Creative
  • Kiddies Calypso Corner Sing-along Caution Collective

Everyone will receive a certificate of participation and to round off the day we’ll all join in together to sing along and to perform the dance moves learned at A Taste of Carnival.

How many of us can take part?

Each workshop will accommodate up to 10 people (so that’s a maximum of 50 taking part on the day). The day is an ideal family activity that looks set to be popular. Please book early so that we can do our best to ensure that all your party are in one group. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.

How to take part. What will it cost?

To secure your spaces and to ensure an enjoyable and safe day please note that you must register and pay a one-off registration flat fee of £5 to take part. Your registration fee will secure spaces for up to 5 participants.  Registration forms and fee must be returned to us as soon as possible, by Monday 26th March.
